May you silent the noises of worry and stress and fear. May you find your peace as you use words of hope and thoughts of love. May the mind retain and recall your favourite music, your favourite songs, your favourite flavours and beautiful memories. May your heart be filled with contentment and courage.
The squirrel seems Less playful, The wind seems Much heavier, The sun seems Much distant, The laughter seems Much hollower, The chat seems Much mundane, The debate seems Much effort, The meal seems Much familiar, The water seems Much nauseous, The heart seems Much numb, The mind seems Much dumb. It's one of those days, Only music seems Mystical, magical, Music has it's healing ways.
A sprinkle of sesame, Adds special flavour. Like a timely smile, Brings relief greater.
Its not words alone, That we use as balm, To bring back calm.
Tiny gestures, Warm expressions, Like a nod, A smile, A pat, Lift up those near, And encourage our dear, Spread comfort and cheer, As they release fear.
Like the sesame seed, Tops our food, Makes it special indeed, Use a sprinkle of warmth, For those around And in need.
Awake, arise, Pursue the new, Make the best use, Of this day, Or you'll regret, When you realise, How fast time flew, So do more right now, Focus and just do.
Time runs, Why procrastinate? Don't leave Taking decisions, Until its oh! Too late. Why wait?
To sun-hot May, The summer-bringer, In days few, We bid adieu.
How very soon, Arrives June, Along comes the monsoon, May the rains grace, Cool the land too, Welcome, 'warm' welcome, To the second half Of the year 2022.
Lets remind ourselves, In New Year resolutions What did we decide, But simply couldn't do?
In the cycle of Nature In life and death Even dry dying leaves Add colour to Nature In their Fall In their last season They give us souls Beauty for a reason: Every breath brings The reminder, Do something worthwhile Make someone smile, Perhaps is the lesson.
You loved that stuff Of very long ago, But now, You don't need it You know.
If you want to go With the flow, Clutter can't burden you, Attachments to old energy Can't withhold you From being ready And receiving all new.
At the moment, It might be hard, But overcome the urge Not to let go, Do not hoard, You need to declutter You need to purge, To let the new Come on board.
Looks familiar? May you declutter. The Kon Mari way.
May everything go right, May we all feel peace, And we may all heal.
May we all decide, To live in the moment, May all shed off Our memories of lack, Our painful past, And wear a smile, And ponder for a while, How our souls From fear of lack Lead to some greed, May we gently From this be freed.
Clutter crowds the mind, Creativity gets no space, And is left behind.
Why do we accumulate, More and more, When we know for sure, We can use only few, So keep the best, Declutter helps us cure, Brings us mental peace, We feel sanctity pure.
We have to leave, All this behind, From time to time, To ourselves, May we gently remind?
Success is the result of our genuine talent, sincere effort and strong decision to not give up before we achieve our goal. Yes. But then how is it that only few succeed while many do not, despite of the talent, effort and determination?
We do reflect- oh the timing was not right, or some stroke of bad luck...etc.
I feel above and beyond the obvious, there are four more things- our success is attained as it is:
First, God is answering someone else's prayer.
Two, our success is fruit of our ripened past good karma.
Three, our success is a blessing recieved.
Four, our success is pre determined, our path calls us, as we are chosen to be instrumental in accomplishing larger designs for the larger good.
So is our success something to be proud of, or not? I think actually it is better to keep our grace and have a gratitude-filled heart towards a universal supreme energy and understand our success as a rich and truly humbling experience when we count how many people indirectly or directly helped us get this success, get us here. So ours, is then, the role of an instrument and to be chosen as an instrument we may feel gratitude, exercise detachment and show affection. We must do what we do to feel alive with excitement while doing our work, feel alive with joy when we accomplish, live in that moment fully and then detach and move on to something different and new- for a rolling stone gathers no moss, and well, we cannot cling to one success forever just like we cannot keep on eating sugar forever!
Taste success, devour it, savour it, then 'gargle' with humbleness and gratitude, cleaning your mind, heart and soul and keep moving on...
Uncertainty: It is a gap, A blur, The distance, Between the answer, And its question.
It is the time When we have to sit back, Not knowing, What's next in line, Feeling fear and lack. Its best to wait, And let the universe, Gather its intelligence, And put the best stuff, Together for us.
Uncertainty is quite An humbling experience. It makes us patient, And lean on faith, And seek divine guidance.
Just breathe. Just be. May the universe conspire, And may you wait out; For those who wait patiently, Also serve.
Accept uncertainty, Let life unfold. In the face of uncertainty, Be stoic, be bold.
Sometimes for no obvious Or explicable reason, You may just feel Your heart is heavier, Your mood is low, Your reflexes are slow.
Usually around this time, Same day, same time, In the past, You have faced, A devastating setback.
The heart has not forgotten, The mind has not overcome, But you have moved on.
At such moments, It helps to do Pranayam. Meditate. Be gentle with yourself. Do some new artwork. Read a new poem. Smell the flowers. Direct your attention To chanting or prayers And observe meditation.
Reward yourself With care and compassion. Instead of avoiding The feeling, be with it. Accept it. Improve on self-preservation And self-care.
This too shall pass. Hope you have a good life ahead.
In every difficult situation in life, the only way to be in charge is to control your mind, control your tongue and control your actions. It is smarter to be more in control of yourself than to try and control others. Silencing the mind and overcoming negativity, overthinking and judgemental presumptions, are all necessary in trying times.
In the end, its all about this: You can't control others, you can't control the world, so just learn to control yourself.
'You can never expect life to be as you would like life to be. But you can always expect the most carefully thought of ways to deal with what is thrown at you. So how you respond is the key to your own well being. Do not rush into a reaction immediately. Take your time. You choose to be a highly inflammable chemical or not, in the moment. Be gentle to yourself.
Increase your self control. Score high in it. Self control is a challenge. Score atleast 70% and aim 90% in 5-10 years".
The winged explorer, The sky-migrant, The global glider The borderless flyer The bird Tell me, Do you look back To your first nest, To your first branch, To your first tree? Do you only fly onward, Do you only move forward, Never glance backward, Never sigh, Just fly high?
Me too, a migrant, Between cities, Between tongues, Between thoughts, Between my origin And final destination, Here and now, on earth, Only pursuing Peace is worth, I perch for a while, I just have one lifetime, So, I search for peace, From mile to mile, And ultimately realise Peace itself perches In my heart and my smile.
2004-present, a journey of joy. Back in 2004 I landed on 9th April, Good Friday, in Muscat. I now feel Muscat is in me as much as I am in Muscat, my beloved city. Thank you, Muscat, Thank you, Oman.
How about... Smiling Without any reason today? How about... Singing With(out) tune today? How about... Joking and laughing On yourself today? How about... Giving up a 'must do' today? How about... Facing towards the Sun and simply being happy today?
Not a great morning, I say, but do what you can and just pray. Ces`t la vie!
The world is at times A bit topsy, a lot turvy, For you or me Or her or him, The morning may seem, A bit like Coffee gone cold, A bit like A slightly burnt cookie, That too without cream.
Your mood may seem low, The sun may glare And pale your glow, Life may bring you, Blow after blow.
If this be such a day, I wish good luck Comes your way, Hope all the odds You do overcome, And find solutions, Where there seemed none.
You’ll get there…be back in control soon! This too shall pass.
Poetry is a moment deeply experienced and beautifully versed
Poetry is born when the heart and intellect meet and converse and reflect together.
Poetry is a moment of awareness, a moment of realisation, an insight into being alive and experiencing with the heart; therefore poetry is heartfelt. The poet's sensitivities are heightened towards the occurrence and the experience.
Poetry is inspirational, and also powerful due to the wisdom it carries within its imagery, mood, ethos and pathos.
Poetry is all this, and much more.
Writing poetry is as much a spiritually elevating experience as reading poetry.
To read poetry is to peep into a universally experienced humane moment of life once more, from a different angle and a different point of view-and absorbing the poet's refreshing way of looking at the world.
Reading poetry is therefore at once engaging, elevating, and an intellectual and emotional experience.
Hold your positive thoughts longer, It makes your words Sweeter and stronger. Hold your peace longer, It makes your words calmer. Hold onto truth forever, It gives your words Power. What thoughts you keep, That far you'll reach, Your intent, your thoughts Into your words will seep, And find a place In your speech. Be word-conscious today onwards! Be April 'Wise' Not April fool, Be 'Word-wise', Relaxed and cool.
