Keep away

Oh I almost forgot…
Keep away
The urge,
To delay.

Get up!
Do it!
You have to do it anyway.

Exercise?
Declutter?
The follow up call?
Making a meal?
An unpaid bill?

What is it,
You haven't done still?

Today, make it a day
To begin, to attempt, to complete, whatever it be:
Any pending talks,
Your Nature walks.
Or lots of to-do tasks.

'What's your plan?'
Today, to you asks.
Now!

Have a bookful day!

Be a read-greedy book grabber.
When did you last read,
A book fully finish?

Some read for exams,
Some for work,
Some read in leisure,
And treat themselves
With'must' read heaps,
Some thrive in company of books,
Some read none,
Some read for fun,
Some find time
To few pages turn,
With reading,
Our mind we feed,
To the avid readers,
I salute indeed.

No, not Wtsapp, not FB,
Not short, little messages,
From here and there,
That's not reading proper.

Follow an author,
Read from page one
To the last page,the end,
Reflect, reason, question
Every thought pattern
Study deeply its intent.

Unravel and accept
Another life-philosophy,
Choose to read
An author fully,
Complete works of poet,
A proper collection,
Each Voice is unique
Write your own critique.

Each author sows a seed,
New thoughts to breed,
Power of immortality,
Undoubtedly is possessed
By the writer's creed.

Your own mind
You must nourish,
Review your notions
And change obsolete beliefs,
Let your intellect prosper,
Make your mind rich,
So that you flourish.

Your thoughts and ideas
Form a new design,
When you read,
You with your kind,
Emerge, evolve,
And in many ways align.

Happy READING!
Happy Weekend.
Have a bookful, beautiful day!

Achieve today!

For I have refined
And redefined
Achievement.

Not wasting time
Is an achievement.
Letting go worry
Is an achievement.
Laughing more
Is an awesome accomplishment.
Making a new bond,
Having a new friend,
Is an achievement.
Turning a sad memory
Into a sad smile
Is an achievement.
Praying for myself
Is an accomplishment,
Praying for others
Is an achievement.

I pray all of you achieve and accomplish today:
My way. My redefined, refined way.
Have an achievementful day! Good Morning!
Achieve this!

What excites you

Fly
Being alive
Is to do
What excites you,
Then you thrive too.

As you walk,
Is there a bounce
In your step?
Is there a smile
On your face set?

Or are you dragging
Yourself to drudgery
Losing the Will?
Depleting your energy?

What excites you,
Will serve others too.

Spread your light,
Be a bright spark,
Overcome gloom,
The doubt and the dark.
Bring in the dawn,
The light of the morn,
And fly high
Singing like the lark.

Be excited!

Post pandemic do’s and don’ts

We shall overcome
Do not ask folks
How they are,
They may not
Want to recall
Many a scar.

Say,

'Good to see you',
I'm here to help you.

Do not presume
All's well,
Maybe they chose
On issues
Not to dwell.

Say,

'Whatever it is,
May you heal,
It will take time,
Want some ice water
With a squash of lime?

Do not share
How awesome
Your staycation was,
Some have had to bear
Irreparable loss.

Say,

'Hey, want some coffee,
Let's bond over
Some cookies and tea'.

Do not expect
A 100 percent
Of pre pandemic 'Normal'
To return will take,
An effort decent.

Say,

'You'll get there,
For you, we truly care.

Do not assume
Its easy for all,
To switch gears
And let go fears,
Some maybe
Unwilling to return.

Say,

'We hold your hand
At every twist
And at every turn,
First of all,
Your well-being
Is our concern'.

Do not presume,
All will be OK
With everyone,
So many are taking
Each day as it'll come.

Do not presume
Everything is alright,
Some are trying
To find
Their lost light.

Say,

'You'll overcome,
Here, have some
Chocolate yum.

Don't mind
If someone won't smile
They'll take a while.

Say,

'Hope it will
Get better soon,
May your day be
A perfect boon'.

In between silences

Sheer poetry
In between silences,
A few words
Fly in,
Birds from faraway
Skies of ideas,
Carrying a new story,
In sheer poetry.

GUESS, GUESS, GUESS!

Mommy muses…

Good bye
On the purple couch
She does belong,
And she sings along,
Between numbers divine-
Ruth B's 'Lost boy'
She plays again,
And humming Trampoline,
By amazing Shaed and Zayn,
My princess shifts,
In the next moment,
Taylor Swift's
Melody drifts.

Outdoors, the Virus
Covid 19 corpses pile,
Indoors 24 by 7,
Locked down we cope
To keep alive hope,
Try home remedies so naive,
Praying they do survive,
Days elapsed more than
Three Sixty Five.

I keep glued my eye
To the 15×17" screen,
On the digital
'virtual' platform
I 'Meet' strangers,
And also my own,
Our voices low,
Our spirit sunk,
With cameras off
On Zoom,
Our world's shrunk
Into our living room.

Her O level Exams
In 2021 scheduled,
How short a reign
Childhood ruled!
I feel cheated
By Time, fooled.

Am I ready
For the silence
That will follow soon,
For Papa Johns pizza,
No more sulky tantrum,
No one over-the-moon?

Am I ready
To say goodbye
As she'll pack
My heavy heart
In her backpack?

Are moms able
To recall
How to thrive?
Or do they amidst
A mount of
Muted memories cry?

Will I pretend
To smile and survive,
Counting each day,
Till my kid beloved,
For a short visit
Will arrive next May?
Is that how I'll
Suddenly, rapidly
Go wrinkled and grey?

Till then,
Though listless,
Am I suppose to
Just breathe,
And glance
At lifeless doors
And dull chores replete
Just repeat, repeat, repeat, and repeat?

How do I thrive
After my nestling,
Far away will fly,
Into a distant sky?

At 4, she ruined my lipstick, scribbling
‘Mamma I ❤ you’

Books

At times

A random read,

At times,

A re-read,

At times

A hasty skim,

Or rush-read the end,

Sometimes dog ear

Page seventy-seven,

At times read aloud,

Sometimes I highlight,

At times I underline

Or I scribble

A question mark,

And sometimes I just sigh.

At times in entirety,

It stays within me

Other times I need it

Visible, grab-able

In my arm’s vicinity,

Sometimes I clutch it

And cry;

And some pages

Make me smile-

At times for comfort, I visit

And re-visit and re-read;

A rapid read,

A thorough read,

Soak in it or sip it

Word by word

Or line by line,

Romp from page to page

Or recite for delight-

I light up in their presence,

They are my life’s essence,

I never cease to seize

A few off the rack,

Hold them, hug them

Overload them in my backpack,

With a true sense of

Togetherness immense,

I revere each book

With love intense.
