Kanhaa Poem

The Kanhaa Poem: 1
By Amita J Sanghavi.
19/8/2022.

Krishna, krishna!

Heading straight

To the Haveli,

We stop at the phoolwala

And his tokri,

Our steps halt

As we bend,

Flowers to the soul,

Bliss lend:

The moment

Of spotting fresh blooms,

Mogra and Prajakta,

Bringing a bright glow

On our face and our heart,

We bend to touch the petals,

And the softness

In the Marigold garlands,

How we love to hold!

And now hurry to visit

Krishna in the temple,

Inhaling incense,

Lotus scented agarbatti

Lighting lamps for real,

Chanting aarti in chorus,

As we drape blooms

Around His neck,

And join our hands,

Overwhelmed

With real Darshan

In our 'ami'-filled eyes,

As our blue Kanhaa

We behold,

The maakhan chor,

And His mesmerising,

Mischievous muskaan

Forever heart-held,

Come let’s celebrate,

The birth of

Our Divine consciousness

On Krishna we focus,

Govind Hari, Gopal Hari,

We chant in chorus,

His feet,

The ultimate Sharan

For us.

Happy Republic Day India!

Extraordinary India❤
May we move forward, Stronger,surer,together.
May we move forward,
To progress and prosper.

May our diversity
Bring us strength greater,
Make our minds grow richer,
May we stride with pride,
Holding hands of each other.

May the bright light
Of knowledge and wisdom
Enshrine in your heart

And may you prosper
In every way.

Poem Title:
‘Being rich’

Rich as in
Thought,
Word,
Deed,
Values.

Rich as in
Not indebted

Rich as in
Having
A
Child

Rich as in
Having a home
In each friend's house

Rich as in
Having a smile
And
Simultaneous tears

Rich as in
Having
More than enough
To spend
And enough to spare
For a needy

Rich as in
Having a home
Filled with
Colors
And coffee stains.

Rich in pain,
And therefore
Richer in forgiveness,
And rich in
Mindfulness of trying
Not to hurt another.

Rich in love
From a little doggie
And a pretty, tall daughter.

Yes, rich in faith
Extraordinarily rich,
In the knowledge
That miracles happen.

And richest
To have you
As a divine creation
In my life!

Sundays

Sundays, lovely sundays,
No rushing to work,
No hopping on buses,
Or catching trains,
Or missing subways.

No early wake up call,
No hurry, no haste at all,
No alarms ringing,
Lazy waking,
And lazier rising.

Leisure short and sweet,
Sunday's a treat!
But this Sunday,
Get busy,
Get ready,
Decorate the home
Bright, all lit.

Favourite foods cooking,
Special savories
Yummy, spicy and crunching,
On Diwali sweets
Don't yet start munching!

Shop to shop hopping,
Shopping, more shopping,
Getting busy inviting,
And rangoli making.

Celebrate and cheer,
Diwali's here!
Get ready!
