Happy Teacher’s Day

Should I thank you life?
Should I thank you Life,
For what you have taught me?
It is irreversible and unforgettable.
You give no second chance
There is no time
For a backward glance.

You have set
The toughest lessons
And sudden twists
And unexpected turns
And all this
On slippery and steep pathways,
With no promises of getaways.

You give no hint
Of the next test
So brutal are your methods of teaching,
So Life, tell me
How do I thank you,
For being my ruthless,
Ultimate Guru?

The answer-less questions of life

Think how

The joy of colours
In the cycle of Nature
In life and death
Even dry dying leaves
Add colour to Nature
In their Fall
In their last season
They give us souls
Beauty for a reason:
Every breath brings
The reminder,
Do something worthwhile
Make someone smile,
Perhaps is the lesson.
Find your way of adding color to life

The Art of Worrying

The Art of Worrying
A nagging worry

Might be an opportunity

To bring about change

And turn the worry

Into a personal change,

Take responsibility,

To improve self,

Change a 'given' belief,

Re-question, redefine

What bothers you and why.

Think beyond the clouds,

Of anxiety and worry,

They may shower upon you,

A refreshing insight,

Or wisdom anew.
See every anxiety and worry as a call for change.

Time

Spend your time well.

It's the only thing

We have no clue

When it will be over.

Think about how much

We need to push ourself

To accomplish today.

Your journey and mine,

Is like a sip of wine,

Time gulps us over,

May it go slower.

We live the distance,

From presence

To absence.

We breathe the distance,

From sound

To silence.

We traverse the distance,

Our journey together,

Some day transcends

To infinity.

Sooner or later,

We move far above,

To the skies;

Breaking free

From the earth

And its gravity.

You and me,

We are a soul,

In a form.

Into 'shunya'

Any moment,

We may transform.

Right now, here,

Next moment,

Who knows, maybe,

We will become,

A memory sheer.

Every minute

Loads seconds sixty,

So go ahead,

Live it intensely,

With a high level

Of integrity,

And positive energy.

If tomorrow comes,

Make today worthy,

To be remembered dearly.

* Shunya/ shunyata: -Sanskrit concept of nothingness/ zero/ zeroness/black hole
Time is most precious.

So what now?

Let's say,
What you did dream,
What you did chase,
Was a slip between
The cup and the lip.

You may sulk, scream
Pine for what is not,
Won't let it just go,
Oscillate to and fro-
Pendulum-like, moving
Without progressing.

As you observe,
Surely you know,
Back and forth,
Forth and back,
Ask your self,
What in this life
Do you really lack?

Let’s remember

Let's remember
Its not 'my' success
Or 'your' success.
It is 'our' success.

Let's remember
Its not 'my' failure
Or 'your' failure.
It is 'our' failure.

We are each contributing to ALL Humanity
And therefore, UBUNTU the African proverbial concept of Life and community is the best way forward- I am, because you are.
At our individual level, we can choose to pledge to ourselves to change and transform. We can guard the petty thoughts of a poor mind and move to a rich, open mind. A mind that's all-encompassing, ever-expanding. We must choose to drive our future based on a world view that holds a united and universal way of thinking, believing and supporting everyone. We can choose to make it a point to help whoever crosses our path in every way we can.

Hold onto goodness and positivity.

Find joy today

Joy is in fleeting moments
Connect with Nature,
Find joy
In clouds taking
On shapes,moving, changing.

Find dance
In leaves and flowers swaying.

Find tunes and songs,
In birds chirping
And streams gurgling
And the breeze whooshing.

Find joy.
Sigh out worry,
Breathe in joy.

Have a day filled
With joyful moments.
Whatever bothers you, just let it go…As Maya Angelou says,’Joy is a freedom. It helps a person to find his/her own liberation.

Dualities of Life

In trying times, try trying harder. You can do it.
When you are in a somber mood, meditate on these words. Just sit thinking of the unexpected in life that throws us out of gear. In your thoughts, reflect on how often we are imbalanced in our understanding of the dualities of life. We seem to only want the good, the happy, the wellness/the healthy, the easy/ the comfortable, the best. Naturally. We must. That is absolutely normal and a must.
But when the co-existing dualities occur- the bad, the sad, the illnesses, the difficult times, the challenges, the disturbing scenarios, the unexpected: are you somewhat upset or totally upset? Are you unwilling to accept or just unprepared? Do you wish the bad times just go away?
But the dualities are there-they are just there.NO ESCAPE. The other side of the coin is just THERE.
Finding your equanimity and balance helps, and accepting what you cannot change and changing what you can, is within your means as you are bestowed with the powers language and discretion: our two empowering tools as humans.
So, go with the flow. Be patient in hard times, and use your good times to become better, with constant self-improvisation.

You can choose. You can do it.
Self improvise!

By Amita Sanghavi

A day full of possibilities

Through small actions
Just think each hour,
Within your power,
What can you do?

You've 7,200 minutes
Plant seeds
Of flowering trees
Just for minutes 15
To find one morning,
Smiling flowers 16!

Left with 7185 minutes
Imagine how much life
You can fill in these!

Have a positively action-filled
And happening day.

May you choose to:
Nourish, accomplish,
and flourish!
Take care.

Anticipation

Problems are wrapped solutions. Unwrap and solve!
Step out

With a feeling

Of anticipation.

Do resolve

To learn from

Both experiences,

Bitter and sweet,

The life lesson:

Duality is the norm,

And co-existence is

To go with the flow,

Or choose to decide

Your own journey,

And harder your boat

You must row.

Continually emerge

Stronger and evolve.

Embrace a pinch

Of true dynamism

Remember wrapped inside

the nagging problem,

Hides the solution.
You are stronger than you believe!

COME, SEPTEMBER!

COME, SEPTEMBER
Bring some melody
Lessen the cacophony
Come,September,
Heal the ailing
Brighten the paling.

String hearts together,
Make tempers milder,
Come,September,
Let's hear melodies,
Begin soothing
Heavy, hurtful memories.

Come, September,
Remind us our cheer
And patience
And put our lives
Back in forward gear.

Forward is the way

Thank you Michelle, for being so YOU

A poem inspired by #Michelle Obama’s speeches on Youtube

We slip into despair-

into tears,

into fire,

 into deep ocean.

And a Youtube video

Reaches.

Michelle's reminder

falls into our soul

Like sundrops

Helps us gather ourself,

Lifts us, shifts us

We watch bygones,

Like a dead,

Dried leaf strewn,

Breezes away from the

Tree,

May we release dry

Dis-serving thoughts

Free.
