One day at a time

When in life,
There's no rhythm
There's no rhyme
No laughters chime,
A tear glistens
You can't even sigh,
Your breath feels muffled
Each time you inhaled
It felt like an effort
And you struggled,
At that juncture,
When every nerve
You feel will rupture,
Just be in silent plea
Really pray to the Divine
and sense the silence
And hear the quiet,
Say to self,
One day, at a time.

A day comes

What mattered always, you must let go.

A day comes
When what mattered,
You must let go.
You just know,
You give up.

It is the day
You are just
a little less alive
But you survive.

Like the cat's
last lonely walk
around the street,
In extreme heat.
Losing hope,
To find a bite
To chew, to eat.

Both you and the cat
So much alike,
Until next dawn,
Both just survive.

Will the cat
Without the hat,
Not named Tom,
Nor pretty
Hello Kitty,
Find a fish
In a dish
Or Jerry the rat?

And you,
Will you ever
Overcome that?
The day is new but you are no longer what YOU were.
